GCR Score: 4.2 / 5
Verdict: Recommended
Best For: Golfers who want a friendly country course, clear visitor fees, and a relaxed day north of Brisbane
Avoid If: You need inner-city convenience or all membership fees published before contacting the club
Last Reviewed: 12 July 2026
Woodford gives off the sort of country-club feeling that is easy to underrate on a spreadsheet. The fees are clear, visitors are welcome, the setting is peaceful, and the course has enough doglegs and wildlife to keep the round memorable. This Woodford Golf Club review is mostly about value versus drive time.
If you are near Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast hinterland, or north Brisbane, Woodford stacks up well. If you are deep in Brisbane’s southside, the trip is the bigger question than the green fee.

What I liked and did not like
What I liked
- The fee table is refreshingly useful. Weekday, weekend, group, junior, reciprocal, twilight, cart, and club-hire prices are published.
- The setting is proper country golf. The course sits among state forest and One Mile Creek, with no housing pressed against the fairways.
- The new driving range adds real value. Buckets start at A$10, and no bookings are required.
- The course has character. Blue Couch fairways, 328 Bermuda greens, renovated bunkers, kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, and turtles all help.
What I did not like
- Location will not suit everyone. It is a country option, not a quick inner-Brisbane hit.
- The range has operational trade-offs. It uses the 1st hole corridor, so holes 1 and 2 close while the range operates.
- Full membership pricing needs a direct check. Social membership is clear, but playing-subscription totals were not visible in the HTML pages reviewed.
Membership and fees
All prices are in AUD. Woodford lists social green fees from 1 November 2024 at A$45 Monday to Friday, A$55 on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, A$35 for 9 holes, A$25 after 3pm, A$35 reciprocal, A$12 for juniors to 18 years, and a A$24.95 Wednesday special. Groups of 16-plus pay A$40 weekday or A$50 weekend/public holiday.
Visitor cart hire is A$48 for 18 holes or A$32 for 9 holes. Member carts are A$35 and A$25. Full left- and right-handed club sets hire for A$20.
Competition fees from 14 October 2025 include A$17 for members in standard comps, A$30 for visitors in Wednesday Ladies or Thursday Seniors comps, and A$55 for visitors in other 18-hole competitions. Social membership is A$5 for up to three years. Full playing membership should be confirmed through the latest information pack or office quote.
Facilities and amenities

Image: Woodford Golf Club
- 18-hole par 72 country course among state forest and One Mile Creek
- Blue Couch fairways and 328 Bermuda greens rebuilt in the 1990s
- Renovated bunkers with matting and advanced drainage
- Driving range open from 2:30pm midweek and 3pm weekends
- Range buckets: A$10 small, A$14 medium, A$18 large
- Golf shop, PGA coaching, repairs, fittings, clubhouse, bar, gaming, ATM, and functions
The range setup is clever but unusual. It uses the 1st hole corridor during afternoon periods, so later golfers continue from the 3rd hole while the range operates.

Best time to visit
May through August is the safest Queensland window. It is cooler, drier, and better for walking. September and October are also strong if you want warmer conditions without peak summer humidity.
If you want the cheapest hit, the A$25 after-3pm social rate is the obvious play. Just remember that daylight and range operation can shape how many holes you actually get through.
Dress code and etiquette

Woodford’s dress code is casual but neat. Men should wear collared shirts with long trousers or dress shorts, long socks or sports socks, and soft-spike golf shoes or sports shoes.
Ladies should wear conservative sportswear, tailored shorts or long pants or skirts, and soft-spike golf shoes or low-heeled sports shoes with socks or sockettes. No singlets are allowed at any time, and BYO alcohol is not allowed because the course and clubhouse are licensed premises.

Verdict and score
Woodford Golf Club earns 4.2 out of 5. The fees are clear, the setting has character, and the new range adds value. I marked it down only for drive-time dependence and limited public visibility on full playing membership fees.
