What I liked and did not like
What I liked
- Real Australian golf history. The club dates to 1882 and presents itself as the oldest golf club in the Commonwealth.
- Tournament pedigree is current, not dusty. The Australian has hosted men’s Australian Opens in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2023, plus the 2023 women’s Australian Open.

- The location is unusually central for this level of golf. Being around 6km from Sydney CBD is a genuine advantage for members and invited guests.
