Indooroopilly Golf Club Review (2026): Brisbane Premium or Too Pricey?
4.5
out of 5
★★★★★
Highly recommended for Brisbane golfers who want 36 holes, premium practice facilities, and a polished club environment, if the A$200 visitor fee works.

GCR Score: 4.5 / 5

Verdict: Premium Brisbane golf with real visitor access, but not budget golf

Best For: Brisbane golfers who want 36 holes, strong practice facilities, and a polished club environment

Avoid If: A$200 visitor golf or waitlisted adult membership feels too steep

Last Reviewed: 13 July 2026

Indooroopilly Golf Club is one of those Brisbane clubs where the value depends on what you are comparing it with. Against a basic public course, A$200 for 18 holes is steep. Against a 36-hole private-style facility ten minutes from the CBD, it starts to make more sense.

This Indooroopilly Golf Club review looks at that trade-off honestly. If you want cheaper Queensland golf, compare it with our Pacific Golf Club review. If you want a premium Brisbane facility with visitor access, Indooroopilly deserves a serious look.

What I liked and did not like

What I liked

  • Thirty-six holes is the big hook. Six different 18-hole combinations make repeat rounds far less stale than a normal single-course club.
  • The practice setup is better than average. Indooroopilly promotes a full-length driving range, putting and chipping greens, and on-course practice areas.
  • Visitor pricing is clear. A$200 is not cheap, but at least the club publishes the number and the cart fees.
  • The location is a genuine advantage. Long Pocket gives a secluded course feel only around 7km to 10 minutes from central Brisbane.

What I did not like

  • It is expensive for a visitor round. A$200 plus cart hire will not suit casual value golfers.
  • Adult membership has waitlist friction. The A$1,000 waitlist engagement fee is real money before you know when an offer arrives.
  • Visitor access is not wide open. You need GA handicap and limited tee times, not a simple public booking free-for-all.

Membership and fees

Membership and fees

All prices are in AUD. Indooroopilly lists visitor golf at A$200 for 18 holes and A$120 for 9 holes. Motor carts are A$50 for 18 holes and A$30 for 9 holes. Visitor enquiries are directed to golf operations, and the club says limited tee times are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

On membership, the clearest current figure is the A$1,000 adult waitlist engagement fee. It is non-refundable, but the club says it is credited against the entrance fee if you receive a membership offer. The membership site lists 7 Day, 6 Day, Country, Clubhouse, Junior, and Corporate pathways. Country membership is A$20,000 entrance fee and A$2,860 annual subscription for 2026/27, while Clubhouse membership is A$225.

That makes Indooroopilly a premium Brisbane club, not a cheap join. For a broader Queensland comparison, use the QLD Golf Clubs archive and our review methodology.

Facilities and amenities

  • 36 holes of championship golf with six 18-hole combinations
  • Full-length driving range, putting and chipping greens, and on-course practice areas
  • Professional coaching and club fitting
  • Fully stocked golf shop
  • Poinciana Restaurant and bar
  • Clubhouse, locker rooms, weddings, corporate golf days, and events
  • Reciprocal access network including IMG Prestige for eligible members

Best time to visit

May through August is the most comfortable Brisbane window. September and October are also strong if you like warmer conditions without peak summer humidity. Summer can still be playable, but I would choose an early tee time and plan around heat.

Dress code and etiquette

Dress code and etiquette

Indooroopilly is clear about standards. On course, neat and clean attire is required. Men need collared, sleeved shirts, tailored trousers or shorts, a belt, enclosed shoes, and socks. Denim and drawstring or elastic-top pants or shorts are not allowed on course. Mobile phones are not to be used during club competitions.

Who is Indooroopilly Golf Club for?

Indooroopilly suits golfers who want a serious Brisbane club with variety, practice depth, and a private-club feel. It is a strong fit for players who practise as much as they play.

Skip it if you only want the cheapest public round. A$200 visitor golf needs to be measured against the full facility, not just the scorecard.

People also ask

What is the dress code at Indooroopilly Golf Club?

Expect neat private-club golf attire. Collared or turtle-neck shirts, tailored trousers or shorts, enclosed shoes, and no denim or drawstring bottoms on course are key rules.

Is Indooroopilly Golf Club worth it?

Yes if you value 36 holes, premium practice facilities, and a polished Brisbane club setting. It is less compelling if you mainly want low-cost public golf.

Verdict and score

Indooroopilly Golf Club earns 4.5 out of 5. The 36-hole depth, practice facilities, location, and visitor clarity are excellent. The deductions are for premium pricing and waitlist friction.
