Redland Bay Golf Club Review (2026): Bayside Value or Fee-Finding Hassle?
4.2
out of 5
★★★★☆
Recommended for Redlands and Brisbane golfers who want accessible bayside golf, public booking, and strong clubhouse convenience.

GCR Score: 4.2 / 5

Verdict: Accessible bayside Queensland golf with a strong social-club layer

Best For: Redlands and Brisbane golfers who want public booking, Moreton Bay scenery, and clubhouse convenience

Avoid If: You need every membership subscription visible in HTML before enquiring

Last Reviewed: 13 July 2026

Redland Bay Golf Club is a very different proposition from the private Sydney heavyweights in this AU-Day 13 batch. It is more community hub than velvet-rope trophy club: 18 holes near Moreton Bay, online social bookings, bistro and bar facilities, a driving range pathway, juniors, functions, and clear local-club energy.

This Redland Bay Golf Club review gives it credit for accessibility and setting, while also noting a small frustration: some fee details live in PDFs or booking systems rather than clean public HTML. For Queensland comparisons, see our Pacific Golf Club review and the QLD Golf Clubs archive.

What I liked and did not like

What I liked

  • Visitor access is practical. The public-booking path is visible, which makes this much easier than private-only clubs.
  • The bayside setting gives it personality. Redland Bay’s Moreton Bay location is a real selling point for golfers south-east of Brisbane.
  • The clubhouse is more than a locker room. The club promotes an air-conditioned single-level clubhouse, bar, bistro/barista, deck, Keno, Fox Sports, gaming machines, and shower facilities.
  • Juniors and beginners are part of the story. The club highlights junior development, rules, etiquette, handicap, dress-code learning, and beginner pathways.

What I did not like

  • Fee discovery could be cleaner. Some membership detail is pushed into PDFs and the booking engine, which is less convenient for quick comparison.
  • Closed categories may require a waitlist. The membership page tells golfers to contact the Golf Shop about provisional membership and waitlists for closed categories.
  • It is a local-club experience, not resort theatre. That is a strength for many golfers, but not for travellers chasing a destination-course splurge.

Membership and fees

All prices are in AUD. Redland Bay states that 2025-2026 membership fees are available through its official membership materials and asks prospective members to contact the Golf Shop about provisional categories or waitlists where categories are closed.

The clearest public fee point is the entrance/waitlist charge: a non-refundable A$750 entrance fee is payable upon waiting-list application, and the A$750 entrance fee applies to 7 Day, 6 Day, and 5 Day membership. Annual subscriptions can be paid monthly, fortnightly, or weekly, but the club says this is still a twelve-month membership commitment rather than month-to-month membership.

Pro rata membership is offered on all categories except Get into Golf. The Get into Golf membership is reserved for golfers completing a beginner clinic at Redland Bay through Golf Australia and is available for one year from joining.

Facilities and amenities

  • Public online booking pathway through MiClub

  • Golf lessons pathway

Best time to visit

May through August is the safest Queensland window, especially for visitors who want cooler walking weather. September and October are also appealing before summer humidity becomes a larger part of the round.

Dress code and etiquette

Redland Bay publishes official dress regulations and also emphasises etiquette education for juniors. For adults, that means you should treat dress standards as active club policy, not a vague suggestion. Check the current PDF or call the Golf Shop if you are unsure before arrival.

Who is Redland Bay Golf Club for?

Redland Bay suits golfers who want an accessible local club with scenery, social booking, dining, and a genuine community feel. It is a good fit for Redlands residents, Brisbane south-east players, juniors, and beginners moving from clinics into club golf.

It is less ideal if you want every fee in one clean public table before making contact. The bones are solid, but the fee-discovery experience asks for a little patience. Use our review methodology to compare that against access, facilities, and setting.

Verdict and score

Redland Bay Golf Club earns 4.2 out of 5. It scores well for access, setting, clubhouse utility, and community pathways. I marked it down slightly for fee-discovery friction and the need to confirm membership category availability directly.
