Every Arizona golf club we’ve reviewed is public, and not one of them charges an initiation fee. That makes Arizona the most straightforward golf state in this whole directory: you’re comparing green fees, conditioning and heat, not membership politics.

Ten Arizona clubs are reviewed here, and the Scottsdale–Phoenix corridor accounts for eight of them. Stone Canyon (4.6) in Oro Valley is the best course on the list — a Jay Morrish desert layout north of Tucson. Gainey Ranch (4.5) in Scottsdale is the strongest resort-adjacent option, and Grayhawk (4.4) remains the name most visitors book first.

For value, Longbow (4.4) in Mesa and Eagle Mountain (4.4) in Fountain Hills both deliver more course than their rates suggest. Talking Stick (4.3) gives you two Coore & Crenshaw layouts on one site, which is unusual anywhere.

Closer to Phoenix, Lookout Mountain and Foothills cover the mid-market, Dove Valley Ranch in Cave Creek is the quiet-round pick, and McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale is 36 holes of parkland golf that reads as a change of pace from the desert courses around it.

Timing matters more here than anywhere else in the country. Peak-season rates in January and February can be three or four times a July tee time on the same course, and our reviews give the shoulder-season windows where the value actually sits.
